Friends of the Hartland Library

The Heart of Hartland

The Friends of the Hartland Library believe that our public library is the heart of the community. We are dedicated to enriching lives. The Friends believe that the library helps to satisfy the thirst for knowledge; from books with intricately woven stories to books with step-by-step procedures on how to fix a leaky faucet. The library also provides computers to link people to job opportunities or to do research online.

Completely Non-Profit

The Friends of the Hartland Library is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that supports the library. FOHL finances programs, books, DVDs, computers, supplies, and other special items not included in the annual library operational budget. We also sponsor the annual Summer Reading Program; a months-long event for all ages which attracts hundreds of participants. In 2012 the Friends donated $20,000 to the new library addition for the Children’s Room sponsorship.
