Fire Prevention Week

CHECK THE BATTERIES ON YOUR SMOKE DETECTORS!

Fire Prevention week is a week long event offered by the Hartland Fire Department. Each year school children participate in programs such as:

  • Safety videos
  • Survive Alive house equipped with upper and lower bedrooms, kitchen and simulated smoke machine. This facility allows firefighters to teach children how to react in a dangerous situation.
  • Learning about firefighter equipment
  • Spraying water from a fire hose
  • Fire safety handouts, learning about matches and other causes of fire, question and answer quizzes, and much more!

Firefighters also visit area schools during this time with their fire trucks and fire prevention handouts.
