How do I return my absentee ballot?

There are several options:

Mail it back. Postage is provided on the return envelope.
Drop it off at Village Hall in the Clerk’s office.
Drop it in one of our secure drop boxes located to the left of the entrance to Village Hall, Cottonwood Ave., or near the exit from the Library parking lot.

2. How do I register to vote?: You can register online at MyVote.wi.gov by mail, in-person at the clerk’s office or at the polling place on Election Day. All voters must submit proof of residence with their voter registration.

3. Where do I vote?: All voters will vote at the Community Center located in Village Hall, 210 Cottonwood Avenue, Hartland.

4. What hours are the polls open?: The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

5. How do I request an absentee ballot?: You may request an absentee ballot online at myvote.wi.gov Or you may complete the absentee ballot application and submit to the Village Clerk’s office along with a copy of your photo id.

Absentee By-Mail Deadlines - Feb. 16 Spring Primary Election:

February 11, 2021 at 5 p.m. - The deadline to request an absentee ballot by-mail for regular and overseas voters.
February 12, 2021 at 5 p.m. - The deadline to request an absentee ballot by-mail for indefinitely confined voters and military voters (not on active duty).

Absentee By-Mail Deadlines - April 6 Spring Election:

April 1, 2021 at 5 p.m. - The deadline to request an absentee ballot by-mail for regular and overseas voters.
April 2, 2021 at 5 p.m. - The deadline to request an absentee ballot by-mail for indefinitely confined voters and military voters (not on active duty).

7. I requested an absentee ballot. When will it be mailed?: Ballots are mailed shortly after receiving the completed absentee ballot request.

9. When does my absentee ballot have to be received in the Clerk's office to be counted?: Your ballot must be received in the Clerk’s office no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

In-person absentee voting will be held at Village Hall, Administration, as follows:

February Spring Primary Election: February 2 - February 11, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, February 12, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

April Spring Election: March 23 - April 1, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, April 2, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

You will need to show your photo id when voting an in-person absentee ballot.

11. I just moved to Hartland. Can I register and vote here for the election?: Voters must reside at their address for at least 28 days by Election Day in order to vote. Voters who have moved within Wisconsin less than 28 days before the election must vote from their previous address. Voters who have moved to Wisconsin from another state less than 28 days before an election are only eligible to vote in Presidential elections.

12. When should I submit my request for an absentee ballot?: You are encouraged to request an absentee ballot as soon as possible due to the anticipated high volume of requests.
