Take and Make Craft Bags
Miss Sue has some GREAT craft ideas she’d love to share with you. Make everything from stuffed animals to games—everything you need in ONE bag!! All materials included—just check it out, take it home, and let the fun begin!! New craft bags are usually released every other week, so make sure to come back frequently, or keep an eye on our Facebook page (we’ll post when a new one is released!)
May Programs
Dabble Time
Thursdays, May 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 10 am
Join us in small groups as we dabble in S.T.E.A.M.-rooted sensory activities. We’ll get messy with processed-based art materials, such as paint, playdough, and more! Please wear clothes that can get messy. Recommended for ages 1-3, but ALL ages welcome! To keep group sizes small, we’ll be offering Dabble Times on Thursdays at 10 am every month. Registration is required, so sign up by calling the library at 262-367-3350 or stopping at the front desk. Registration is open for all sessions; sign up for one session per month.
Lego Club
Thursdays, May 5 and 19 at 6 PM
Come join the club for Master Builders!! We’ll give you a theme, you build us a masterpiece!! A great way to express creativity, learn about teamwork, and just have fun! Legos and Mega Bloks will be provided. No registration required.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Event: Cycropia Aerial Dance

Reach new heights with us as we have a night of acrobatics! Madison-based dance troupe Cycropia will be here performing in our parking lot for an unforgettable night you won’t want to miss! Be sure to bring a blanket or chairs to stake out a spot
Make and Take Mondays
Mondays, June 13 – July 25 at 10 am – 12 pm
Ms. Sue is back with one of our most popular programs! All ages are welcome! Come create fun crafts to take home. Drop in at any time during these two hours.
Splash Pad Stories
Mondays, June 13 – July 25 at 2 pm
What’s better than stories outside? Stories with Freezer Pops! Meet Mr. Peter at the Nixon Park Splash Pad and cool down with some of our favorite stories. Each story time will end with a free freezer pop for every kid that wants one.
STEM at the Library
Tuesdays, June 14 – July 26 at 10 am
Wake up your mind with this program focused on STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Every week will focus on a new challenge or craft designed to educate as well as entertain!
Minute to Win It Games
Tuesday, June 14 at 4 pm
Ages: 12 – 18
Join us as we compete against friends to see who can complete Minute to Win It games. These simple games involve fun tasks where participants have to complete using household items in less than a minute in order to move on to the next task and ultimately win prizes! No registration is required.
Laugh Out Loud Stories
Wednesdays, June 15 – July 20 at 10 am
Mr. Peter loves to laugh and can’t wait to share some hilarious stories with you! Each story time will end with a quick craft you can take home or do right there!
Lego Club
Thursdays, June 16 and 30 at 6 PM

Getting’ Artsy
Thursdays, June 23 and 30 at 10 am
Calling all kids ages 6-12! Come get “artsy” with us at the Library! We’ll make giant dragonflies, paint fireworks, and more! Dress for a mess. Registration is required as there is a limit of 16 per session. Call the Library at 262-367-3350 to register.
Sing-A-Long Stories
Fridays, June 17 at 10 am
Get ready! We’ll be singing and dancing to some hilarious songs, as well as reading some musical inspired stories. This interactive program will get everyone up and moving!
Decade Days
Fridays, June 17 – July 29 at 12 – 2 pm
To celebrate 125 years of the Hartland Public Library, we’ll be giving out prizes every week! Just look on our Facebook page every Friday morning for a trivia question. Come into the Library that day and answer it, and your kids will get a prize!
Books Against Humanity
Tuesday, June 21 at 4 pm
Ages: 12 – 18
This fun, laugh out loud game is just like Cards Against Humanity only with books! You don’t even have to bring a book, we will supply them! We are a library; we have tons of books! No registration is required.
Magician Matt Teague
Wednesday, June 22 at 2 pm
Madison-area magician Matt Teague’s show will wow you and inspire everyone to follow their dreams and reach for the stars.
Cupcake Wars
Tuesday, June 28 at 4 pm
Ages: 12 – 18
Get your celebrity chef on and join us at the library for a Cupcake Wars with a teen twist! The library will be providing all cupcakes and necessary supplies. Bring an apron--it will get messy! You can compete by yourself or as a team of two. Please email Emily at esternemann@hartland.lib.wi.us to register.
Mad Science: Fire and Ice
Wednesday, June 29 at 2 pm
This spectacular show will thrill and chill audiences with amazing dry ice
experiments! From a shivering spatula to a special bubbly shower, the audience will be begging for more!
