The Green Mile by Stephen King (Thriller)
Join us for the book that inspired the Academy Award-nominated 1999 film featuring Tom Hanks. Set in Louisiana during the Depression-era 1930s, The Green Mile follows the lives of convicted killers through the eyes of Edgecombe, a guard in a high-security prison, with all the convicts waiting their turn with the prison's electric chair. When a new convict arrives on the Mile, Edgecombe's views and beliefs are turned upside-down as miracles start to occur and buried truths are uncovered.
