The Hartland Public Library seeks a charismatic, creative, and community-minded individual to serve as Library Director. This full-time, exempt position reports to the seven member library board and is responsible for planning, managing, and administering all phases of library operations in accordance with the mission, goals and objectives, policies, and budgetary decisions. Daily operations include managerial oversight related to personnel, budget, collection development, building maintenance, and library services in cooperation with the Library Board of Trustees and the Village of Hartland. The library director reports directly to the Library Board of Trustees and serves as a member of the village’s department heads.
A qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of progressively responsible library experience and management. An MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited university is required and the candidate will be eligible for a Grade 1 Library Certification.
