A full revaluation of the Village is being completed to stay within the standards set by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and bring property values to 100% market value. This was last completed by the Village of Hartland in 2009.
Grota Appraisals staff will have a badge with photo ID while in the field. Assessment staff will enter the lands to perform their assessment duties for revaluation but do not need access inside houses or buildings. Property owners should be aware that implied consent is given to allow the assessor access to the property unless a written refusal is provided to the assessor for this exterior only inspection.
The revaluation process will not affect the valuation for 2018. The new assessment will be effective as of January 1, 2019 and will not affect property tax bills in December 2018.
