Pond Inspections

When Village properties are developed or redeveloped, storm water best management practices are installed to meet the requirements of the Village Storm Water Ordinance. These measures include ponds, infiltration basins, swales, ditches, rain gardens, excreta. These practices slow down the rate of storm water runoff from sites and remove some of the pollutants contained in that runoff. For these measures to remain effective and continue to meet the requirements of the Village Ordinance, they must be maintained on a regular basis.

Maintenance of these measures/facilities includes routine inspection, repair, and any work necessary to return the facility to the designed and approved condition. Minimum maintenance measures are established by design engineers at the time projects are approved.

The Village requires yearly stormwater pond (and other stormwater devices) inspection to ensure compliance with the Village’s MS4 permit issued by the State of Wisconsin DNR. Copies of the inspection forms can be found below. Additional information regarding stormwater is available on the Waukesha County Storm Water web page, http://www.waukeshacounty.gov/cleanwater.

Completed forms can be uploaded using the link below or mailed to the Village at:
